A sip of Al Hisn Alchemy is artisanal and creamy: opening with blackcurrant and a decadent, dessert-like richness of black forest gateau, trailing with sparkling lavender florals and closing with a spicy aftertaste reminiscent of cardamom.
Grown along the edgy terraces and rugged terrain of the Manakha district in western Yemen at staggering heights, Al Hisn means ‘the fort’ and refers to the fort-like remnants of the Ottoman Empire’s mountainous vantage points that are accessible in the villages even today.
The synthesis of our proprietary, state-of-the-art Alchemy processing and this lot yields a competition-grade coffee underpinned in science, genetics, love and care, contrasting against the challenging lands and changing times.
