In Bait Alal, a remote village in the highlands of Hayma Kharijiya, West Yemen, the coffee tree is more than a crop; it is an heirloom, a symbol of pride passed down through generations. Home to around 300 farming families, locals recount stories of coffee's origins in their region, supported by manuscripts documenting land ownership dating back over 300 years. Perched high above the world at over 2,300 MASL, Bait Alal has built a reputation for producing some of Yemen’s most sought-after coffees.
