In 2010, concluding his chapter on adrenaline adventures, Pepe Jijon purchased a small land of about 120 hectares near the Imbabura UNESCO Global Geopark within the Intag valley. In the spirit of seeking peace and solace, he named this space 'Soledad', meaning solitude. Pepe's father helped him set up the farm over many years, which now has a designated 5 hectares out of 120 dedicated to growing coffee suited to the soil, this Sidra lot being one of them.
A renowned Ecuadorian coffee farmer who practices regenerative agriculture on his biodynamic farm, Pepe considers Nature his home, a source of rejuvenation and the muse that inspires his work. Each lot from Finca la Soledad is one-of-its-kind, frozen in time, a combination of multiple minute elements governed by Nature.
