Planting Prosperity, One Coffee Tree at a Time
There can be no coffee beans without coffee trees, but somehow, the sourcing and planting of healthy, disease-free and resilient coffee trees is one of the most overlooked areas of coffee development work! A coffee tree can live anything between 30-150 years, so choosing the right coffee trees to plant can be one of the most important lifelong decisions a coffee farmer can make for their lives and livelihoods. However, coffee farmers worldwide struggle to get access to healthy, reliable coffee trees. Qima Café’s ‘Coffee Tree Per Cup’ programme in partnership with Qima Foundation strengthens coffee farmers’ access to suitable coffee trees, contributing to their future prosperity. For every cup of coffee sold, Qima donates a young coffee tree to a farmer, bridging the perceived gaps between profit and purpose.
