Al Mahjar—literally translated as "exile"—derives its name from the village's isolation. Nestled high in the remote hills, where terraced farms cling to rugged slopes and centuries-old coffee traditions endure, extraordinary coffee takes root.
Cultivated by ultra-smallholder farmers, this lot embodies the challenges and beauty of its environment—scarce water, dramatic climates, and unwavering dedication.
At the heart of this coffee is Yemenia, a newly identified mother population of Coffea arabica found exclusively in Yemen. Using a waterless honey process combined with carbonic maceration, the coffee is expertly transformed, honouring Yemen’s rich heritage while expanding its flavour potential. Expect vibrant fruit, delicate florals, and a touch of spice—hallmarks of Yemen’s finest coffees.
