Cultivated by Juan Abad in El Pino, Zumba, within Ecuador’s Zamora Chinchipe region, this natural-processed Typica Mejorado offers a vivid expression of its high-altitude origin. The farm sits above the city of Zumba with sweeping views and is surrounded by native forests of cedar, laurel, and balsa flanked by the biodiverse Parque Yacuri and near Podocarpus National Park. This rich ecosystem contributes to a bright and expressive cup.
Typica Mejorado, the variety behind this lot, is an Ecuadorian selection celebrated for its refined cup quality, floral aromatics, and bright, elegant acidity.
In the cup, expect layered notes of baked peach, ripe guava, and tropical passion fruit, rounded out by a gentle floral finish of yellow blossoms.
